Her style on drums has been compared to Kenny Aronoff (John Cougar Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge) meets Ginger Baker (Cream) with hard hitting backbeats and a jazzy finesse that escalate solos and works the energy of the band.

Influences include;  Buddy Rich, Tony Williams,  Trilok Gurtu, Stewart Copeland, Gina Shock, and Carter Beauford.

Julia received her first drum at age 3 and has been involved in playing music ever since.  In college she studied music education and performance and received her bachelors from Appalachian State in North Carolina and her Masters from the University of North Texas .  

Over the next several years she has performed in various groups from orchestral to jazz to rock with her favorite being the ROCK and original bands such as Rising Tide, The Watch,  Choices, Spirit House, Erick Wimmer, Luminterra, Blame it on the Dog, and many more.
